Bushbaby on stand

A wide-eyed bushbaby sits on a deep-blue stand decorated with hand-modelled leaves and colourful details. Large pink-lined ears, blue eyes and a curling tail give this small sculpture its playful presence. Grey, mottled glaze brings depth to the body, while the glossy finish catches the light across the handmade surface. At approximately 17 cm high, it adds a cheerful woodland character to a shelf or side table.

Meet the subject

Meet Zizi, who considers dusk the proper beginning of a Zululand day. Those great ears are always ready for a rustle, and her wide eyes suggest that the evening holds something worth investigating. She pauses on her little perch as though she has all the time in the world—until curiosity gets the better of her.
