Green bug

Bold, textured and bursting with character, this original oil painting celebrates the remarkable beauty of the African beetle. Rich emerald greens, deep forest tones and touches of golden olive bring the beetle’s intricate form to life, while expressive brushstrokes and thick, tactile paint create wonderful depth and movement. Set against a soft, pale background, the striking composition allows every sculptural detail to take centre stage. Created using artist’s oils on a 100% cotton canvas panel, measuring 200 × 300 mm, this piece transforms one of nature’s smallest creatures into a captivating work of art, celebrating the extraordinary beauty often overlooked in the African wilderness.
